Setup hardware and check your computer specifications are compatible with Saledock.

Compatibility

Saledock POS and Stock Control apps

The Saledock Point of Sale and Stock Controls applications are available on Android only and compatible with Android 7.1 and higher. We can't guarantee all mobile and tablet devices are compatible with Saledock POS and don't recommend devices released in 2017 or prior. Saledock POS requires Bluetooth 4.0 to connect wirelessly to devices. If you choose to use SumUp as your payment provider please check the SumUp compatibility list.

Saledock is compatible with the 57 x 32mm (11354) labels for your product labels and 54 x 101mm (99014) labels for your online order shipping labels.

Saledock is currently only available in the UK. We are not multi-language or multi-currency compatible. Saledock supports English (United Kingdom) and GBP currency.

Android device

Follow the Samsung setup wizard to setup your tablet and connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or turn on mobile data if you have an LTE tablet. Once setup is complete turn on Bluetooth. Download the Saledock POS app from the Play Store.

Star mPOP all-in-one

What's in the box? The mPOP combined printer and cash drawer, tablet stand, sample paper roll, power cable and mount bracket.

Device setup
  • First add the paper roll, push the receipt section on the left to pop open the paper drawer
  • Pull the drawer open and insert the paper roll
  • Bring one end of the paper roll towards the receipt cutter and close the drawer ensuring the end of the roll is fed through the cutter
  • Second, connect the power cable to the mPOP, the port is located beneath the mPOP
  • Ensure the power cable is plugged into the power outlet
  • Press the power switch located on the lower left of the mPOP to turn the mPOP on
  • A blue LED on top of the mPOP indicates that the power is on, a red LED to the right of it indicates a paper jam, paper is empty or the paper drawer is open
Bluetooth connection
  • On the Android device turn on Bluetooth
  • View the full list of Bluetooth devices and tap Star mPOP-xxxxx (x = Device name endings differ)
  • The Android device and the mPOP will pair, once paired the mPOP will appear under the paired devices section
Troubleshooting

If you are having issues printing or setting the printer as the active printer in the Saledock POS app please following the instructions below:

  • Turn OFF the mPOP power
  • Insert a pen with a small tip or similar item and press the reset switch located to the left of the USB ports located beneath the mPOP
  • At the same time, press the power switch located on the lower left of the mPOP. Keep pressing it without releasing the switch
  • The power and warning LED's will flash once initialisation has started. Once the flashing starts release the reset button
  • Initialisation is complete once only the power LED is on and not flashing
  • Ensure the mPOP is paired with the Android device
  • Ensure the mPOP is not paired to any other device
  • Restart the Saledock app and set the mPOP as the active printer

Star mPOP barcode scanner

What's in the box? The mPOP scanner, stand, screws and sticky pad. Assemble the stand and attach the stand to your counter top using the screws or sticky pads provided. Insert the scanner USB cable into any Standard USB port located beneath the mPOP. The scanner beeps and a blue LED is briefly shown on the top of the scanner after each successful scan.

Star mC-Print 2/3 printers

Star mC-Print2 receipt printer

What's in the box? The mC-Print2, AC adapter, power cable, USB cable, paper roll, safety instructions, flyer and easy setup guide. The mC-Print2 works with Saledock via USB, LAN and Bluetooth.

Printer setup
  • First add the paper roll, pull the lever on the top right of the printer
  • Open the printer cover and insert the paper roll
  • Bring one end of the paper roll towards the receipt cutter and close the cover ensuring the end of the roll is fed through the cutter
  • Second, connect the power cable to the AC adapter and plug the cable connector into the far right port on the rear of the printer
  • Ensure the power cable is plugged into the power outlet
  • Hold down the power button located on the lower front of the printer until a blue LED is displayed

Bluetooth connection
  • On the Android device turn on Bluetooth
  • View the full list of Bluetooth devices and tap mc-Print2-xxxxx (x = Device name endings differ)
  • The Android device and the printer will pair, once paired the printer will appear under the paired devices section
  • Once paired with the Android device, the Bluetooth LED will be a solid blue
USB connection
  • Important:When connecting via USB to a tablet you'll require a USB adapter that matches the tablet port
  • Connect the adapter to the USB end of the cable then connect the other end to the tablet
  • Connect the USB Type-B (printer-side plug) into the port second from the left on the rear of the printer
  • Allow the printer to access the tablet and/or Saledock POS app when prompted. You are now connected
  • Unlike the Bluetooth and LAN connection, a USB connection does not have a dedicated LED

LAN connection
  • You will require a LAN cable which not included when purchasing the printer
  • Connect the LAN cable connector into the far left port on the rear of the printer
  • Connect the other end of the cable to the router, hub or other LAN device
  • Once connected to a LAN device that is powered on, the LAN LED will be a solid green

Troubleshooting

If you are having issues printing or setting the printer as the active printer in the Saledock POS app please following the instructions below:

  • Turn OFF the printer power
  • Insert a pen with a small tip or similar item and press the reset switch located to the left of the LAN port on the rear of the printer
  • At the same time, press and release the power button located on the front right of the printer
  • Hold down the reset switch until the network LED starts flashing green. There are 3 LED's located on the front of the printer, the centre is the network LED
  • Press the feed button located to the left of the power button
  • Select the type of communication to initialise* by keep pressing the feed button, press and hold the feed button to initialise.
  • *The 3 LEDs indicate the communication type: Centre flashing LED = LAN, right flashing LED = Bluetooth, centre and right flashing LEDs = LAN and Bluetooth
  • Repeat the Bluetooth or LAN connection steps before setting the printer as the active printer in the Saledock POS app

Star mC-Print3 receipt printer

What's in the box? The mC-Print3, AC adapter, power cable, USB cable, paper roll, safety instructions, flyer and easy setup guide. The mC-Print3 works with Saledock via USB, LAN and Bluetooth. The mC-Print3 prints 80mm wide receipts and is a faster alternative to the mC-Print 2.

Printer setup
  • First add the paper roll, pull the lever on the top right of the printer
  • Open the printer cover and insert the paper roll
  • Bring one end of the paper roll towards the receipt cutter and close the cover ensuring the end of the roll is fed through the cutter
  • Second, on the rear of the printer remove the cover. Place your nails into the gaps in the left and right side of the cover to remove it - Visual reference
  • Connect the power cable to the AC adapter and plug the cable connector into the far right port on the rear of the printer - Visual reference
  • Ensure the power cable is plugged into the power outlet
  • Hold down the power button located on the upper right of the printer until a blue LED is displayed

Bluetooth connection
  • On the Android device turn on Bluetooth
  • View the full list of Bluetooth devices and tap mc-Print3-xxxxx (x = Device name endings differ)
  • The Android device and the printer will pair, once paired the printer will appear under the paired devices section
  • Once paired with the Android device, the Bluetooth LED will be a solid blue
USB connection
  • A USB-C to USB-C cable is included. You'll require an adapter if your tablet device does not have a USB-C port
  • Connect one end of the USB-C cable into the port second from the left on the rear of the printer
  • Connect the other end of the USB-C to the tablet device
  • Allow the printer to access the tablet and/or Saledock POS app when prompted. You are now connected
  • Unlike the Bluetooth and LAN connection, a USB connection does not have a dedicated LED

LAN connection
  • You will require a LAN cable which not included when purchasing the printer
  • Connect the LAN cable connector into the far left port on the rear of the printer
  • Connect the other end of the cable to the router, hub or other LAN device
  • Once connected to a LAN device that is powered on, the LAN LED will be a solid green

Star CB2002 cash drawer

What's in the box? The cash drawer and 2 drawer keys. Plug the RJ11 interface into the RJ11 port located to the left of the power port of the printer.

SocketScan S700 scanner

Android device

Please follow the tablet setup instructions described in the mPOP bundle above.

Socket Mobile SocketScan S700 1D scanner

What's in the box? The SocketScan S700 1D scanner, charging cable, wriststrap and getting started leaflet. This scanner is compatible with all our bundles, the setup processes is the same for all devices.

Scanner setup
  • Connect the scanner to the charging cable and charge the device. The scanner must be charged for 8 hours prior to first use
  • Follow the instructions on the getting started leaflet. A companion app is required to connect the scanner to the tablet, the scanner will NOT work without it.
  • Download the Socket Mobile Companion app from the Play Store. Open the app and register the device, follow the instructions within the app. You will be asked to scan a barcode, if you have issues scanning the barcode on the screen please open the getting started leaflet and scan the Android barcode, this is the 3rd barcode in the list. The app will then try and connect to the scanner
  • The companion app will run in the background to enable the device to successfully scan barcodes
  • On the scanner there are 3 LED's: the left displays a green LED to indicate the scanner is on, the middle displays a green LED if a scan is successful or red if unsuccessful. The right displays Bluetooth connectivity, a flashing blue LED indicates the scanner trying the connect to Bluetooth, a solid blue LED indicates that the scanner is connected via Bluetooth
Troubleshooting

If you are having issues scanning or setting the scanner as the active scanner in the Saledock POS app please following the instructions below:

  • Ensure the scanner is not connected to any other device
  • Open the companion app and tap the added scanner
  • If the scanner is connected, tap the scanner tile on the My devices view to view the scanner information and perform a test scan
  • Tap the Device issues? button to view a detailed troubleshooting guide on common issues
  • If the scanner has previously been connected but is not connected a Reconfigure button will be displayed, tap the button to follow the setup process again
  • If the reconnection fails scroll to the bottom of the page, tap Remove device and scan the factory reset barcode located in the getting started leaflet
  • Within the companion app follow the instruction to add a new device again
  • Upon successful connection to the companion app restart the Saledock POS app and set the scanner as the active scanner within the Settings view of the Saledock POS app

Sunmi T2 lite

What's in the box? The Sunmi T2 lite, power adapter block, power adapter cable and user manual. Setup the device:

  • Place the T2 lite in front of you with the screen facing towards you
  • Tilt the screen backwards 90 degrees until you can see the port cover
  • Pull down the port cover to display all the ports
  • Connect the power adapter block and cable together then plug the power cable into the far right port
  • Connect the barcode scanner, printer and cash drawer (instructions below) or complete this step after the T2 lite has been activated
  • Close the port cover and tilt the screen back to its upright position
  • Ensure the power cable is plugged into the power outlet
  • Hold down the power button located on the lower left hand side of the screen

T2 lite activation and setup

Activate the T2 lite by following the activation process:

  • Tap Start setup
  • Select English as the language and tap Next
  • Select your timezone and tap Next
  • Connect the device to the internet via ethernet or tap WLAN to connect via WiFi
  • If connecting via WiFi tap your network, enter the password and tap Connect
  • Tap Start config
  • Wait for the Sunmi to configure settings and install all approved apps including Saledock POS
  • Once activated the homescreen will be shown
  • If you are using SumUp as your payment provider or a Bluetooth device ensure Bluetooth is turned on. Tap Settings on the homescreen tap Bluetooth from the list and tap the Toggle button to turn Bluetooth on
  • By default the volume is set high. On the back of the T2 lite there are 2 covers. Remove the smaller cover, from here you can adjust the volume and insert a SIM card if required
  • By default the on screen keyboard is set to English US. You will need to change this to English UK to display GBP as the default currency within the Saledock POS app. Important - If you do not change this the default currency is US Dollars.
  • From the Settings view scroll down to the Personal section and tap Languages and input then Languages
  • Tap Add a language and select English (United Kingdom) from the list
  • Tap the icon in the top right and tap Remove
  • Tap the checkbox to the left of English (United States) and tap the icon in the top right to remove the language

Sunmi 58mm receipt printer

What's in the box? The Sunmi 58mm receipt printer, power cable, USB cable, 1 paper roll and user manual. Setup the device:

  • Plug the USB-C end of the cable into the printer and the USB end into a Sunmi T2 lite USB port
  • Plug the power cable into the printer and power outlet
  • Place the printer in front of you with the power indicator facing towards you. To the left of the receipt cutter press the button to open the printer cover. Add the paper roll, bring one end of the paper roll towards the receipt cutter and close the cover ensuring the end of the roll is fed through the cutter
  • Press the switch on the bottom left of the printer to turn it on. The power indicator will light up blue to indicate power
  • The warning indicator to the right of the power indicator is lit if there is a paper jam, the paper roll is empty or the printer cover is open
  • The printer is compatible with 58mm wide rolls up to 60mm in diameter

Sunmi U2 handheld scanner

What's in the box? The Sunmi U2 handheld scanner and user manual. Plug the scanner into one of the USB port on the T2 lite. The scanner beeps and vibrates after each successful scan.

Honeywell Voyager 1202g barcode scanner

What's in the box? The Honeywell Voyager 1202g barcode scanner, interface cable, charging base. The Voyager is the wireless alternative to the Sunmi U2 barcode scanner.

Scanner setup
  • Connect the interface cable to the charging base
  • Plug the USB end of the interface cable to any USB port on the T2 lite
  • Place the scanner into the charging base
  • The scanner will beep to indicate it is connected. Charge the scanner prior to first use
  • The base displays a red LED to indicate is is turned on, the flashing green LED indicates the scanner is charging
  • The scanner displays a green LED and single beep to indicate a successful scan. A long beep and no green LED indicates the scanner is not connected to the base and the scan was unsuccessful
Troubleshooting

If the scanner is connected to Saledock and correctly setup but the barcodes are not scanning please reset the scanner to the default factory settings. Please refer to the manuals and guides list of the resources section on the Honeywell product page.

SBV standard and compact cash drawer

What's in the box? The cash drawer and 2 drawer keys. Both the standard and compact cash drawers are compatible with the Sunmi T2 lite and use a RJ11 interface. Plug the cable into the interface to the left of the power port on the T2 lite.

Sunmi handheld

Sunmi M2 handheld POS terminal and charging base

What's in the box? The Sunmi M2, UK plug, USB cable and user manual. The charging base comes in a separate box. Setup the device:

  • Hold down the power button located on the right hand side of the device
  • Follow the T2 lite activation and setup steps. The M2 and T2 lite are both Sunmi devices with the same operating system
  • To adjust the volume use the volume keys located on the right hand side of the device
  • To insert a SIM card remove the back cover of the device and insert the SIM, the device is compatible with Micro SIM cards only
  • To charge the device place the M2 into the charging base
  • Connect the charging base to a USB port or connect the UK plug to the USB and plug that into the power outlet to charge

Dymo LabelWriter 450 and 550

What's in the box? The Dymo LabelWriter 450 or 550, quick start guide, USB cable, power cable and power adapter. Labels are purchased separately, Saledock is compatible with the 57 x 32mm (11354) labels for your product labels and 54 x 101mm (99014) labels for your online order shipping labels. Please note: Only official Dymo labels are compatible with the 550.

Printer setup
  • Plug the power cable into the power adapter
  • Plug the power adapter into the power port located on the bottom rear of the printer
  • Plug the power cable into the power outlet
  • Plug the USB cable into the USB port on located on the bottom rear of the printer
  • Visit the Dymo website to download and install the latest drivers
  • A Dymo Connect app will be installed, you do not need to use this as Saledock has 2 pre-defined templates
  • Once the drivers are installed insert the USB cable into your Windows or Mac device. Important: Only connect AFTER the driver has been installed
